Steer Gears

Each steer axle and steer gear is thoroughly inspected, completely disassembled, and all wear parts are discarded. All hard parts are chemically degreased, cleaned and inspected for damage and conformance with OEM specifications. Any part that does not meet OEM specifications is replaced. Following assembly, all steer axles and steer gears are given a thorough final inspection and tested to ensure like new performance. Steer axle center pins bearings, grease zerks, king pins, king pin bearings, seals, thrust bearings, thrust shims, and tie rod ends are replaced with new OEM quality parts. Axle beams are straightened and king pin bores are machined to comply with OEM specifications. Steer spiders are machined or replaced to meet OEM taper mandates. King pin bores, threads, bearing diameters, and seal surfaces are inspected. Knuckles that do not comply with OEM specifications are remanufactured or replaced.Steer cylinder tubes are machine honed or replaced as needed to comply with OEM specifications. Seal kits are replaced with new OEM quality components. Chrome rods are inspected for wear patterns and rechromed or replaced. Steer gear o-rings, gaskets, horn contact parts, bearings, seals, and bushings are always replaced with new OEM quality parts. Gears, shafts, cases, and tubes are inspected for wear. All hard parts that do not comply with OEM specifications are replaced as needed.
