TRAINING
Ensure you are fully trained, certified, and authorized to operate the specific type of forklift you are using, in compliance with OSHA standards.
SEATBELT
If the forklift has a seatbelt, wear it at all times. This is crucial for your safety in case of a tip-over.
SPEED
Drive at a safe speed, and slow down when approaching intersections, corners, and areas with pedestrians. Avoid sudden stops, starts, and turns.
HANDLE LOADS
Lift and lower loads smoothly and carefully. Tilt the load backward for stability when traveling, and keep the forks low to the ground.
