HOUSTON (Oct. 21, 2014) – Cat Lift Trucks, a leading provider of quality and reliable lift trucks, today announced its call for applications for the tenth annual Cat Lift Trucks scholarship program. This year, the program will award a Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) high school senior with a $5,000 scholarship toward his or her higher education pursuit in the state of Texas. The scholarship program has awarded more than $90,000 in scholarship funding to deserving high school seniors pursuing a degree in engineering or a business-related field at an accredited college, university or technical school in the state of Texas.
“We are excited to partner with Spring Branch ISD to assist with costs associated with a higher-education degree for a high school senior,” said Kent Eudy, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Cat Lift Trucks. “We are focused on supporting the communities where our employees work, and this program exemplifies our commitment to help Spring Branch-area students achieve their higher-education goals.”
Applicants will be graded on academics, financial need, leadership and community involvement. These elements, along with two narrative essays, are considered when deciding finalists.
The scholarship recipient will be formally awarded the funds during a reception in spring 2015 at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™, where Cat Lift Trucks has been the Official Lift Truck Provider for 11 consecutive years.
The Cat Lift Trucks 2014 scholarship recipient was Ashley Johnson, who is pursuing a business degree at Texas A&M University.

WHAT: Cat Lift Trucks will award a high school senior in the Spring Branch Independent School District with a $5,000 scholarship for higher education pursuits. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited college, university or technical school within the state of Texas and major in engineering or a business-related field.
Students from public schools within Spring Branch Independent School District are eligible to apply. Recipients will be chosen based on academic record, financial need, leadership, honors, narrative responses and participation in school and community activities.
WHEN: Deadline – applications must be postmarked by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015. This year’s scholarship recipient will be honored at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo® in spring 2015.
