Houston-Area High School Senior Awarded 14th Annual Cat® Lift Trucks Educational Scholarship

3/2/2018

HOUSTON (March 02, 2017) Cat® Lift Trucks, a leading provider of quality and reliable lift trucks, today awarded a deserving Houston-area Stratford High School student, Madison McKenzie, with a $5,000 scholarship to pursue a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

Marking its 14th consecutive year, the Cat Lift Trucks annual scholarship program is committed to supporting exceptional students based on their academic performance, commitment to community service, demonstration of leadership abilities and financial need.

Madison is currently a senior at Stratford High School in the Spring Branch Independent School District. During her high school career, she has excelled in both academic and extracurricular pursuits. At Stratford High School, she is the editor in chief of the school’s paper and a member of the Stratford Link Crew, the welcoming committee for incoming freshmen. Madison also regularly volunteers at the Citizens for Animal protection, where she takes care of animals and helps facilitate pet adoptions, in addition to successfully balancing two part-time jobs.

Madison will pursue a degree in business with an emphasis on professional selling. She believes a career in sales will provide her the opportunity to use her strong drive, self-motivation and organizational skills to help companies grow. She is no stranger to setting high-expectations and goals for herself and plans to apply this to her future sales career.

“We’re proud to recognize Madison McKenzie as our 2018 Cat Lift Trucks scholarship recipient,” said Kent Eudy, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Cat Lift Trucks. “Madison’s commitment to education and community service, in addition to her proven work ethic, will make her a valuable asset to our local community today and into the future.”

McKenzie accepted her scholarship at an awards reception at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ (Show) on March 1, 2018, which was headlined by performer Blake Shelton. Cat Lift Trucks has served as the Official Lift Truck Provider of the Show for the past 14 years, where the company has awarded more than $115,000 in scholarships to Houston-area students.
